This series of artwork was inspired by the last 4 years of
my life and the many journal entries, photographs, and sketchbook doodles I made during that time period. These mediums I used as a type of therapy, contemplation of life, and self-soothing. It wasn’t until I came through this traumatic season that I looked back and saw the common theme throughout these things- It was nature, more specifically the sky. Which is interesting because my home during this time period was a place called “Sky View”. While this place was actually the source of all my  turmoil it was also the thing that helped me get through it. Signs from the Universe that I had the capability of surviving and of also finding peace and enjoyment again. Even though I wanted to run away from it, I eventually found solace in it. Each painting is a snapshot in a moment of a very difficult time in my life and the series stitches them together and tells a story of how I survived it with the help of nature and it’s endless sky.
